Sunday dinner is the meal that brings a house together, and it is also the one that takes all afternoon. Rooted Soul delivers a Sunday dinner with a Caribbean twist across Newport every Sunday between 4pm and 8pm, so the family gets a proper feed and nobody spends the day at the stove.
Think jerk lentils with coconut rice and peas, coconut lentil curry with dumplings, Saturday soup thick with vegetables, rasta pasta for the children, and festival, patties and spice bun for the table. It is generous, warming and entirely plant-based, and it is the kind of food that keeps everyone at the table a bit longer.
Order by 8pm on Saturday and we cook everything fresh on Sunday. The Comfort Box at £25 feeds the family. Any 5 Dishes at £40 covers Sunday and a couple of days after. Delivery is £3.50, free on orders over £25.

Start with two mains, say Jerk Lentils with Rice and Peas and Coconut Lentil Curry, add Rasta Pasta if there are children, then Festival, Dumplings and Beyond Beef Patties for the middle of the table. Finish with Jamaican Spice Bun or Jamaican Fruit Cake.
