Patties, rice and peas, festival, dumplings and spice bun, cooked fresh by hand and delivered to your door.
Jamaican food has a way of making a house feel full. Rooted Soul brings that to Newport: a small, family-run kitchen cooking the Jamaican dishes our founder grew up eating, delivered across the city and into the wider South Wales area.
The staples are all here. Rice and peas cooked in coconut milk with thyme and scallion. Festival, the lightly sweet fried dough that goes with everything. Hand-kneaded dumplings. Jamaican Spice Bun with its hint of Christmas. And patties, golden pastry with a rich, peppery filling that one of our customers described as tasting just like beef.
It is all plant-based, cooked in small batches and packed in eco kraft boxes. Order the evening before for next day delivery, or ask about same-day. Delivery is £3.50, free over £25.
